Merrittorious Services Healthcare Consulting was formed to assist hospitals and organizations with enhancing safe patient care. Whether through legal nurse consulting, education with staff, mock surveys onsite, or virtual reviews and webinars, I can assist. Merrittorious Services' aim is to focus on patient safety and processes, with the client's needs in the forefront. This allows me to provide services in a collaborative and accountable manner with integrity.
I am a nurse with more than 30 years of experience working in varying healthcare positions, most notably serving as a member of the Nurse Corps in the U.S. Air Force from 1995-2016. I have worked with organizations in a consultative arena to perform mock surveys for critical access hospitals to larger medical centers. I have also provided focused perioperative reviews of operating rooms, sterile processing departments and high level disinfection processes. I have substantial working knowledge of electronic and hard copy medical documentation review.
Clinically, I am a a licensed registered nurse with extensive experience in perioperative services, as well as leadership expertise in managing many aspects of healthcare operations. I am trained in the application, teaching, and facilitation of the requirements and recommendations of various regulatory and accrediting agencies.
I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro and my Master's of Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University in New Jersey. I obtained my certificate in legal nurse consulting from Duke University. I am a certified nurse in the operating room and have healthcare accreditation credentials. I am currently a member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN), The Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ), and the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC).
Most importantly, I am a Christian, wife, mother, and grandmother. I love to read, travel and facilitate learning experiences. As an LNC, I can ease the burdensome task of reviewing medical documents returning valuable time back to your office without the the cost of overhead.
